Claire's doll

You know as well as I do that not every toy catches a child's eye in the same fashion. Well, Nana hit the jackpot when she gave Claire this awesome doll. Here is a picture of Claire with her doll on Christmas morning. All of the gift opening had concluded when we announced, "Wait, Nana has ONE MORE gift." Claire gasped when she saw the doll and sweetly exclaimed, "My doll!!!"

She had taken a serious liking to this doll at two Pottery Barn Kids stores in the days leading up to Christmas. Both times while at various malls she told me, "Mom, I really really want to take this doll home." So, Nana bought it on the sly.

She is so fond of the doll that she likes to sleep with her and take her in the car whenever possible. The other night, while Rob and I were working on our laptops, we found Claire asleep on the floor. Even her doll was tucked in.

 But the excitement grew even more when the latest Pottery Barn Kids catalog arrived in the mail last week. Claire thumbed through the catalog and was ecstatic to find more dolls like hers.

For several days she slept with the catalog, as well as her doll. She keeps asking if she can have more dolls like hers for her birthday.  We'll see, sweet Claire, we'll see.
